We’re on the lookout for a WordPress Developer who is able to pair the art of design with strong technical ability. We’re looking for no-nonsense, hard-working people with a “can-do” attitude.

YOUR REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years’ WordPress experience and web development experience
  • Good understanding of responsive web design and a mobile first approach to development
  • Strong portfolio of work
  • Clean coding methods
  • Skillset must include:
    • CSS/CSS3 for front end templating
    • HTML 5
    • PHP
    • Javascript
    • Adobe Photoshop / Adobe Illustrator
    • SEO and UX understanding
  • Experience with:
    • Subversion (Git)
    • Database administration (MySQL)
  • Must be able to code own responsive template from PSD
  • Able to manipulate plugins to perform required functions (mentioning examples will
    be beneficial)
  • Experience using child themes and familiar plugins
  • Building new WordPress sites/systems from scratch (including themes and plugins)
  • Ability to work on Macintosh computer

  • Advise on optimisation tactics / best practice.
  • A strong visual eye and understanding of design concepts is necessary
  • Perspective on frontend (and backend) technologies and their impact on the design process
  • Converting custom designs to code for WordPress.

  • Carrying out maintenance on existing WordPress sites

TERMS OF CONTRACT

  • 9:00 to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. The schedule is ‘deadline-driven’ i.e. on occasions when deadlines are tight, work may be required outside these hours
  • 15 working days paid leave per annum
  • Employment will be subject to an initial 3-month trial period whereby performance will be appraised and reviewed
  • You are required to bring your own laptop for the first initial 3-month trial period

Managing Client Accounts – The clients communities are routinely and continually up to date, without a static or congested flow in either direction in terms of moderation, response, engagement, interaction and posting.

Copywriting – Create timely and engaging copy for your clients that is on-brand and in line with objectives and platforms.

Brainstorming – Participation in creative sessions focused on solving problems and sharing ideas.

Creative Direction – Assisting with provision of briefs to designers for execution of Client content and advertising (in conjunction with the Creative Team and Social Media Manager).

Reporting & Monitoring – Noting and evaluating performance and using it to feedback to the Account Manager and Creative Team, with input on how to improve work.
